Block Mode and Line Mode
The built-in editor can work in block or in line mode. This means that all text operations, such as select, copy, move, or delete, refer to a rectangular area (block) of n lines and m columns or one (or more) line(s).
After starting an end user tool, the editor works in block mode. To switch to line mode, you can choose the option Select Line from the menu Edit. To switch back to block mode, choose Select Block in the Edit menu (only the alternative currently selectable will be shown).
Selecting Text Areas
Before the functions can be executed, the corresponding text areas must be selected.
In block mode:
You select the desired text block by dragging the mouse holding down the mouse button. To select an entire line, move the mouse pointer to the lefthand edge of the line until a big arrow pointing to the right is displayed, and select one or several lines.
In line mode:
An entire line is selected by clicking the mouse and slightly dragging at any place of the line. You can also select several lines by dragging the mouse.
If the whole contents of the editing form is to be selected, choose Select All from the menu Edit.
