For the general hardware and software requirements for the database server, please consult the platform-specific ADABAS installation manual.
The following additional requirements must be met for client-server operation:
1. A TCP/IP software must be installed which provides the TCP/IP protocol stack for communication. In each case, the specific software that is needed is indicated in the platform-specific ADABAS installation manual.
2. During the installation of the ADABAS software on the server, the option Remote SQL must have been activated to prepare the operating system environment for remote SQL. For more information on how to prepare remote SQL after the installation of the ADABAS software, see the platform-specific ADABAS installation manual.
3. The Remote SQL Server must have been started on the server (see the CONTROL manual).
4. The database (SERVERDB) must have been started.
