In order to allow for the modifications to take effect, the computer must be rebooted after exiting Windows.
After the reboot of the computer, it is advisable to check whether the modifications have taken effect by typing the DOS command "set". An environment variable DBROOT must exist which points to your ADABAS directory. Moreover, the directory %DBROOT%\BIN must be contained in the PATH variable.
Once the above requirements as well as all necessary requirements on the database server have been met (see Section System Requirements on the Database Server ), you can work with the ADABAS tools under Windows.
