To allow the modifications to take effect, you must exit Windows and then reboot the computer. After rebooting the computer, it is advisable to ensure that the modifications have taken effect by typing the DOS command "set". An environment variable DBROOT should be displayed which points to your ADABAS directory. Moreover, the directory %DBROOT%\BIN must be contained in the PATH variable.
Once the above requirements as well as all necessary requirements on the database server have been met (see Section System Requirements on the Database Server ), you can work with the ADABAS tools under Windows.
