Overview on the Installation Procedure

The following is a brief overview on the single steps that are required for the installation of ADABAS:

1. Installation of the ADABAS D software with the command 'setup'

2. Rebooting the PC

3. New Installation
Update Installation

Defining the devspaces on which the SERVERDB is to be installed (see Section DEVSPACEs).

Defining the SERVERDB using the tool CONTROL (see Section Installing a New SERVERDB; or the CONTROL manual, Section 3.1). CONTROL requests any parameters required for the installation of a new SERVERDB, starts the SERVERDB, and loads the system tables (see CONTROL manual, Section 3.2).
First, the SERVERDB must be started with the tool CONTROL. Then an update of the system tables can be performed in CONTROL (see Section Installing an ADABAS Version Update ; or the CONTROL manual, Section 3.3).

4. Afterwards, the SERVERDB is operative.
